Full Meaning

The Nine of Swords, like all nines is a card of contemplation and re-assessment. Often nines are associated with obtaining what you desire, but sometimes having too much of what you desire, or endless possibilities can pose a problem in itself. This card suggests that you may have quite a lot on your mind at the moment. You may be looking for solutions to problems and it feels as if all of the answers are swirling around in your head. This in turn may cause some sleeping difficulties as you may be feeling generally anxious. However this card also brings with a sense that things are becoming blown out of proportion and that the solution may be much less complex. The message is clear, although you may feel like you are in a bad dream simply wake up and see it for what it is, only a bad dream. All of the answers are there and you just need to listen to your inner voice.

Traditional Symbolism

One seated on her couch in lamentation, with the swords over her. She is as one who knows no sorrow which is like unto hers. It is a card of utter desolation.
